Rain in the Cloud of Sounds - Problems with episodes

Hello, Students!

So, I’ve been notified that the Soundcloud episodes from 1-7 are no longer working. After doing some searching, I found out that this might’ve been due to the series getting awfully close to the 2-hour limit. Like, less than a minute close. Apparently, they were interpreting as if I had hit the limit and surpassed it, somehow.

…Or, more likely, it’s just a minor bug that will probably be fixed tomorrow or something. Still, as a precaution… I’ve deleted the 7th episode from the profile, and uploaded it to my personal account. I repeat, The 7th Episode is now on my Personal Account, as is the 8th.

It didn’t have many views nor likes yet, so it’s not a huge loss. Nothing will change on the Tumblr page, of course. The original Episode 7 post has been edited and the episode, replaced. Nothing to fear. That’s really just a notification to explain why the 7th Episode is somewhere else now.

However, so far the other episodes are still not working. Me and a friend tried in many different browsers and devices, nothing. I hope this is fixed soon, but… Just as a precaution, I need your help once again. :D

Firstly — Are the episodes working for you? If they are, that’ll be a huge relief, and…

Secondly — What would you recommend as an alternative to SoundCloud?

Just in case things stay like that…

Thank you once again! :D

Episode 8 - Party - Part 2

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was a pretty ordinary time, it was a time forgotten, it was a time lost, it was a time for laughs, it was a time for cries and it was a time for revelations.
It was the time to begin and the time to end.
It was also the time for cake.

Back from the Dog Park.

Hello, students. I’m sorry for the huge delay for the last episode. Our amazing mysterious voice in the credits (a.k.a. Emily Lombardi) had some problems with her computer. Luckily, it did not acquire sentience, or, if it did, successfully erased our memories of such act, so it’s okay.

But alas, the time has come. The last episode is here. I had to upload it on my personal channel, due to the two hour limit on the NVCR Soundcloud account having been filled, but I did make a playlist of the whole thing, which you can see - well, hear, we are only able to visually perceive audio on full moons. Not on days with full moons, but standing on the moons themselves - here:

And, now, without further ado or shivering with anticipation, the last episode.

Today’s proverb: The new year is finally here. Gather your armies. Prepare the tanks. We attack at dawn!

Thank you so much for listening to this, and I hope you enjoy it!

Fellow students, we had to leave for a while. It was tough, but I bring great news: We did it. We defeated 2013.

As you know, we have spent 365 arduous days (and about 6 extra hours) bravely battling such beast, but, alas, it has fallen. As usual, we spent an extra week recovering from the epic showdown, without having to worry about the hideous creature and focusing on the other hundreds of problems and challenges that keep multiplying and finding their ways inside our skin like viruses, surviving only inside of us and draining our lives and spirits. It was, overall, a pleasant recuperation. I finally had time to myself, even managed to clean the radio booth, and this time it only cost me seven arms and a leg. My arms. Not my leg.

But now, when all is said and done, I think we should probably start to address the three-headed, five-winged and eighteen-livered elephant in the room: 2014 has arrived, it’s twice as ferocious as 2013, not as hideous, if you’re into that stuff, and it’s angry.

Very angry.

For those who waited so long for the new episode, I give my most sincere thanks. Thanks! All those who took the time to listen to at least one episode, I couldn’t thank you enough. But this is no time for goodbyes, there are still 2 episodes to go before this journey ends, so, it may not be for long, but for now, all I have to say is…

We’re back. And the penultimate episode is here. Enjoy. :D

(And no, the name didn’t reeeally change to “Night Vale College Mayhem”. That would just be silly.)

Today’s proverb: Do not be fooled— even during the day, there are still stars in the sky beyond sight. And they are plotting against you. With evil grins and everything.

wibblywobblytime asked:

Hi I have A FEW QUESTIONS! I love night vale but I am not caught up will that affect me if I listen to your radio show? How often are episodes posted? and is on here and soundcloud the only way to listen to them?

Hey! No, actually, it won’t affect you much, there are some references here and there to things in the original, but nothing that gets in the way of the experience, just a couple of nods one may or may not miss. All in all, I think even if you’ve listened to just the first WTNV episode you can get the gist of it and enjoy the show. :D

Episodes should be posted weekly, but that doesn’t always work. Everyone is doing this for free and for fun, and I have to wait for permission from the artists to feature the songs, so it takes a while, but we try to make it a weekly thing!

And, yes, since it’s easy to upload in any format there and easy to embed anywhere, we upload it only on Soundcloud, and embed here. We don’t make them downloadable in any way out of respect for the featured artists, but if anyone is having a problem with Soundcloud and recommends another way, we’re open for suggestions, of course!

I hope I’ve answered your questions, fellow Night Vale fan. :D
